MARK MARTINEZ

Mark Martinez enters his 15th season as an assistant baseball coach at Colorado School of Mines in 2009.

A native of Arvada, Martinez graduated from Arvada West High School in 1983 and went on to play baseball at Trinidad State Junior College. A middle infielder for the Trojans, Martinez played in the JUCO World Series (1984-85) and helped lead Trinidad to a sixth-place national finish. Martinez earned his degree in Data Processing from Trinidad State Junior College in 1985.

Prior to arrivng at Colorado School of Mines, Martinez served as the head JV baseball coach at Arvada West High School from 1986-88. From 1991-95, Martinez was a varsity assistant coach at Arvada High School.

Martinez and his wife, Pam, currently reside in Thornton with their daughter, Megan (17), and son, Brandon (14).
