Tyler, Schiel commit to CSM men's basketball
program
GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines men's basketball
program has received National Letters of Intent from Avery Tyler (Omaha,
Neb. / Des Moines Area Community College) and Pete Schiel (Cheyenne, Wyo.
/ Central High School) to begin playing for the Orediggers in 2008-09,
as announced today by CSM Head Coach Pryor Orser. A 6'0", 175-lb.
guard, Tyler averaged 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals
per game as a sophomore at Des Moines Area Community College (Boone, Iowa)
in 2007-08. A 6'3", 180-lb. guard, Schiel averaged 14.2 points per
game as a senior while leading the Indians to a 20-9 overall record and
a fifth-place finish at the Class 4A state tournament.

First Team All-RMAC East Division accolades
GOLDEN, Colo. - Three players from Colorado School of Mines
have been named to the 2007-08 All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference
men's basketball teams, as announced today by the RMAC. Kyle Pape was
a unanimous selection to the First Team All-RMAC East Division squad,
Ben Mohr was named Second Team All-RMAC East Division and Chad Friehauf
earned Honorable Mention All-RMAC East Division recognition. MORE
