CHIP MARKS
ASSISTANT FOOTBALL COACH - ASSISTANT WIDE RECEIVERS

Chip Marks begins his first season as an assistant wide receivers coach at Colorado School of Mines in 2008.

Prior to his arrival at Mines, Marks was an assistant coach at Legacy High School in Broomfield, Colorado, where he helped guide the Lightning to the State quarterfinals in 2007.

A 1990 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, Marks played football for the Falcons from 1986 to 1988. Marks, who also played two seasons on the USAFA baseball team, garnered academic and military recognition as a member of the Dean's List, Commandant's List and the Superintendent's List during his time at the Academy. From 1990 to 1997, Marks served on active duty as an Air Force officer, attaining the rank of Captain where he served in various roles.

Prior to joining the CSM football staff in 2008, Marks worked in the private sector, most recently as a bank vice president specializing in agricultural finance. Marks has also held various corporate board positions and has served as an elected county official. Marks continues to operate a small farming and livestock business in Colorado during the off-season.

A graduate of Smoky Hill High School in Aurora, Marks earned multiple varsity letters on the football and baseball teams during his prep career and was selected the school's Athlete of the Year with Honors in 1986.

Marks, who earned his master's degree from the University of Arkansas in 1993, resides in Thornton with his wife, Ruth. The couple has two daughters, Kristen and Abby.
