CSM SOCCER WINS AT COLORADO CHRISTIAN, 5-0
Mines Scores Season High in Goals

LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- The Colorado School of Mines soccer team scored a season-high five goals and the defense earned its third shutout in the last four games during a 5-0 victory at Colorado Christian in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action Wednesday afternoon.

Junior forward Rafael Ribeiro (Colorado Springs, Colo./Palmer) scored two goals, while senior defender Brian Blaskovich (Littleton, Colo./Columbine) added a goal and an assist to lead the way.

Sophomore midfielder Nick Clausnitzer (Payallup, Wash./Rogers) scored the first goal of the match off an assist from freshman defender Patrick Roy (Littleton, Colo./Dakota Ridge) and junior midfielder Jeff Perkins (Houston, Texas/Army) added a penalty kick in the 48th minute to give Mines a 2-0 lead before Blaskovich and Ribeiro went to work.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kevin Galloway (Colorado Springs, Colo./Air Academy) posted one save, while AJ Kurtz made seven for the Cougars.

Mines (4-2-1, 3-2 RMAC) outshout Christian, 23-3.

The Orediggers will return to action on Sunday when they travel to Fort Lewis for a 2:30 pm match. The Skyhawks are ranked 11th in this weeks national poll.
