FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Oredigger basketball teams to play in Hawaii on Dec. 21st & 22nd GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines men's and women's basketball teams will each embark upon a two-game road trip in Hawaii on Friday and Saturday, December 21st and 22nd. The CSM women (5-4 overall, 3-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) will play at BYU - Hawaii (Laie, Hawaii) at 3:00 p.m. on December 21st before traveling to Honolulu to face Hawaii Pacific University at 8:00 p.m. the following night. The Oredigger men (5-4, 1-2 RMAC) will square off against Seattle Pacific University in Laie at 5:00 p.m. on Friday evening (at BYU - Hawaii) before playing at Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday night. All game times listed above are Mountain Standard Time. The CSM men are led by Honolulu native Kyle Pape. A 6'0", 190-lb. junior guard from Iolani High School, Pape is currently ranked first on the team and second in the RMAC in points per game (19.4). Selected to the 2007-08 Pre-Season All-RMAC East Division Team, Pape was the only Oredigger to start all 27 games during his sophomore campaign in 2006-07. Pape, who earned Second Team All-RMAC East Division accolades last winter, garnered RMAC Freshman of the Year and RMAC Shootout All-Tournament honors in 2005-06. During his prep career, Pape averaged 20.2 points per game as a senior while leading Iolani to its fourth consecutive state title in 2004-05. Selected as the state tournament MVP his senior season, Pape also earned HonoluluAdvertiser.com Player of the Year and the Gatorade Player of the Year honors.
