Dykstra named RMAC Offensive Player of the Week

GOLDEN, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines' Derek Dykstra has been selected as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Offensive Player of the Week for games played on Saturday, October 27th, as announced today by the RMAC.

Dykstra, a 6'3", 200-lb. senior wide receiver from Seibert, Colo. (Hi-Plains High School), had nine receptions for 168 yards and two touchdowns in CSM's 28-20 home win over the University of Nebraska - Kearney on Saturday, October 27th, at Brooks Field in Golden. For the season, Dykstra has 35 receptions for 607 yards (17.3 yards per catch) and a team-most six touchdowns.

For his career, Dykstra has 153 receptions for 1,927 yards (12.6 yards per catch) and 13 touchdowns. The recipient of Second Team All-RMAC recognition last year and an Honorable Mention All-RMAC selection in 2005, Dykstra also has 19 career punt returns for 145 yards (7.6 yards per return). Dykstra has also returned kickoffs and served a long snapper during his career at Colorado School of Mines.

The Orediggers (6-3 overall, 5-1 RMAC), who have won their last five games, will return to action on Saturday, November 3rd, playing at Mesa State College. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at Stocker Stadium in Grand Junction, Colo.
