Pape selected as RMAC / Baden East Division Player of the Week

Kyle Pape

GOLDEN, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines' Kyle Pape has been selected as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) / Baden East Division Player of the Week, as announced yesterday by the RMAC.

A 6'0", 190-lb. junior guard from Honolulu, Hawaii (Iolani High School), Pape averaged 22.3 points per game and shot 52.5 % from the field (31-of-59) as the Orediggers compiled a 3-1 record from December 21st - 29th. Pape, who also shot 87.5 % (21-of-24) from the free throw line and 42.9 % from three-point range (6-of-14) during that four-game span, is currently ranked second in the RMAC in scoring (20.3 points per game). Pape has reached the 20-point plateau in 10 of 13 games this season and has amassed double figures in scoring in all but one contest. Even more, Pape is currently ranked fourth in the RMAC in free throw percentage (83.3 %; 60-of-72).

Selected to the 2007-08 Pre-Season All-RMAC East Division Team, Pape was the only Oredigger to start all 27 games during his sophomore campaign in 2006-07. Pape, who earned Second Team All-RMAC East Division accolades last winter, garnered RMAC Freshman of the Year and RMAC Shootout All-Tournament honors in 2005-06.

The Orediggers (8-5 overall, 1-2 RMAC) will resume the RMAC portion of their schedule by hosting Mesa State College on Friday, January 4th, and Fort Lewis College on Saturday, January 5th. Tip off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. both nights at Lockridge Arena.
