FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CSM WOMENS SOCCER PICKED
TO FINISH FIFTH IN THE RMAC
GOLDEN, Colo. The Colorado School of Mines
womens soccer team was picked to finish fifth in the 2007 Rocky
Mountain Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced early
today by the RMAC office. Mines was picked to finish fifth out of the nine teams in
the RMAC. Metro State was picked to win the conference with five first
place votes while Fort Lewis earned three first place votes picked to
finish second, both Mesa and Regis were picked to finish third, following
the top three were, CSM, CSU-Pueblo, New Mexico Highlands, Adams State
and Colorado Christian. Mines finished seventh last season with a 2-7-3 conference
record and 5-9-4 overall CSM had one athlete named to the Preseason All-RMAC team.
Sophomore Kayla Mitchell (Ontario, OR / Ontario H.S.) was picked to earn
first team All-RMAC honors for the upcoming 2007 season. Mitchell earned
second team honors in 2006 and led the Orediggers with 11 goals and three
