Ryan named RMAC Pitcher of the Week

GOLDEN, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines' Andrew Ryan has been selected as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, as announced today by the RMAC.

Ryan, a 6'3", 170-lb. sophomore right-handed pitcher from Longmont, Colo. (Silver Creek High School), tossed a six-hit complete game, allowing just two earned runs, to improve his 2008 record to 3-3 in CSM's 16-3 victory at New Mexico Highlands University on Saturday, March 29th, in Las Vegas, N.M. Ryan, who did not walk a batter, also lowered his ERA to 5.77.

For the season (seven starts, 39.0 innings pitched), Ryan has fanned 18 batters while yielding just eight bases on balls.

Mines (13-17 overall, 11-8 RMAC) is scheduled to host Mesa State College in a four-game RMAC series on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 4th, 5th and 6th, during the Oredigger All-Class Reunion Weekend at Darden Field in Golden. Friday's game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m., while Saturday's doubleheader is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m. First pitch for Sunday's series finale is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. The weekend festivities will commence on Friday with the dedication of Darden Field at 4:30 p.m.
