FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Women's Soccer, Volleyball and
Football to play at home
GOLDEN, Colo. - The Oredigger women's soccer, volleyball and football teams will all host home contests throughout the upcoming weekend during which Colorado School of Mines will celebrate the Grand Opening of its new Student Recreation Center. The Oredigger women's soccer team will host Winona State University on Thursday evening, August 30th, at 7:00 p.m. at Brooks Field. Women's soccer will be in action again on Saturday, September 1st, hosting Minnesota State - Mankato at 7:00 p.m. The CSM volleyball team will host the Third Annual Days Inn - Denver West Oredigger Volleyball Classic on Friday and Saturday, August 31st and September 1st, at Lockridge Arena in the new CSM Student Recreation Center. The Orediggers' matches on Friday, which will be held in conjunction with the Grand Opening of the Student Recreation Center, are scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. (MSU - Billings) and 7:30 p.m. (Concordia - St. Paul). Friday's Grand Opening festivities will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3:00 p.m., as well as free tours of the facility from 3:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Grand Opening T-shirts will be given away to the first 1,000 visitors on Friday, and prizes will be raffled every 10 minutes. The Orediggers will play at 3:30 p.m. (Merrimack College) and 7:30 p.m. (Missouri - Rolla) again on Saturday. Friday's matches and festivities will be free to the general public, while regular admission prices will resume for Saturday's action at the Days Inn - Denver West Oredigger Volleyball Classic. The Oredigger football team will open its season by hosting Washburn University in CSM's annual Tailgreat game on Saturday, September 1st, at 12:00 p.m. at Brooks Field. Gates will open at 10:00 a.m., and for $5.00 per vehicle, tailgaters may park and set up in the Brooks Field stadium parking lot. A tape-delayed television broadcast of the Orediggers' game against Washburn is scheduled to be aired by CET Sports on Thursday, September 6th, at 7:30 p.m. The game will re-air on Friday, September 7th, at 4:00 p.m., as well as on Sunday, September 9th, at 9:00 a.m. (all times are MDT). CET Sports is available on Comcast channel 5 in Denver, Loveland and Fort Collins. In Colorado Springs and Pueblo, CET Sports is available on Comcast channel 4.
