CSM WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYER ALYSON BURCHARDT EARNS DISTRICT HONORS GOLDEN, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines Alyson Burchardt was
named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District women's soccer
first team, as announced Thursday by the committee. The district named 13 student-athletes to the first team, 10 to the second
team and 11 to the third team. There are eight districts nationally. Burchardt,
along with the other first-team selections, advance to the national ballot
and are eligible for academic All-American honors. To be eligible for such honors, the student-athlete must be a starter
or key reserve, must have a grade point average of at least 3.20 and must
be at least a sophomore, both academically and athletically. Burchardt, a senior at Mines, holds a GPA of 4.0 and is ranked second on the team with six goals. Burchardt has been with the women's soccer team since it became a collegiate sport in 2005. She also is a member of this year's squad that qualified for the RMAC tournament for the first time in program history. The Orediggers finished regular season play with an overall record of 11-7-1.
