FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CSM MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAM
PICKED TO FINISH THIRD IN THE RMAC; CLIFTON OERTLI NAMED TO PRESEASON
ALL-RMAC TEAM
GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines men's cross country team is picked to finish third this season in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while the women's team was picked seventh in the 2007 Cross Country Preseason Poll. It was announced this afternoon by the RMAC office that both the men's and women's teams of Adams State College were picked to win the RMAC this season. Western State was picked second on both the men and women's sides while Mines tied with Metro for third on the men's side and UC-Colorado Springs were third for the women's teams. The 11-school conference, for the men were rounded off by UC-Colorado Springs (5th), Fort Lewis (6th), New Mexico Highlands (7th), Nebraska-Kearney (8th), and Western New Mexico (9th), Regis (10th) and Colorado Christian (11th). For the women, Fort Lewis was fourth, Nebraska-Kearney (5th), Metro (6th), Mines (7th), New Mexico Highlands (8th), Mesa State (9th), Western New Mexico (10th), Regis (11th), CSU-Pueblo (12th) and Colorado Christian (13th). Mines had one individual named to the Preseason All-RMAC team, senior Clifton Oertli (Littleton, Colo.). Oertli was an All-American last season with his 32nd place finish at the NCAA Division II Nationals. CSM will kick off their season on September 1st with their annual time trial in Boulder.
