CSM VOLLEYBALL LOSES AT UC-COLORADO SPRINGS, 3-0

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team concluded the 2006 season with a 3-0 loss at UC-Colorado Springs in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action Saturday night at the Lions Den.

Game scores were 30-11, 30-15, 31-29.

CSM was led by junior middle hitter Nicole Leeper (Brighton, Colo./Brighton) who posted eight kills, while senior middle hitter Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) added seven kills and six digs. Junior libero Ashley Pagel (Brighton, Colo./Northern Colorado) added 20 digs.

UCCS (14-13, 11-8 RMAC) was led by a 13 kill effort from Diane Shelton, while Andrea Weedman tallied 21 digs.

The Orediggers conclude the 2006 season with an overall record of 11-17 and 7-12 in the RMAC.

CSM VOLLEYBALL FALLS AT REGIS, 3-1

DENVER, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team fell at Regis, 3-1, in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action Friday night at Regis Fieldhouse.

Game scores were 16-30, 30-20, 30-25, 30-23.

The Orediggers (11-16, 7-11 RMAC) were led by senior middle hitter Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) who posted 14 kills and 16 digs. Junior libero Ashley Pagel (Brighton, Colo./Northern Colorado) tallied 20 digs, while freshman right side Kaity Edmiston (Palisade, Colo./Palisade) produced seven kills and seven digs.

Regis (16-12, 13-6 RMAC) received a match-best 19 kills from Rachel Ross. Chelsea Pavlik added 15 kills and a match-best 21 digs, while setter Felicia Ciarellil recorded a double-double with 61 assists and 11 digs.

CSM will conclude the 2006 season with a 7:00 pm match at UC-Colorado Springs on Saturday night.

CSM VOLLEYBALL TOPS COLORADO CHRISTIAN, 3-0

GOLDEN, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines senior middle hitter Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) tallied 14 kills and just one error in 26 attempts (.500) to help lead the Orediggers to a 3-0 victory over Colorado Christian in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action Saturday night on Senior Night in Volk Gymnasium.

Game scores were 30-25, 30-23, 30-18.

Rebol's classmates also stood out on the night dedicated to the three seniors on the CSM roster. Senior outside hitter Caitlin Mabe (Lakewood, Colo./Denver Lutheran) posted nine kills, while senior defensive specialist Sarah Rickard (Palisade, Colo./Palisade) totaled 13 digs. Freshman setter Lara Vagstad (Aurora, Colo./Grandview) dished out 38 assists for the Orediggers.

CCU (5-23, 1-16 RMAC) received 12 kills from Chelsea DeBerry, while Meredith Hawryluk amassed nine kills and a match-best 14 digs.

CSM will return to action on Friday night when it travels to Regis University for a 7:00 pm match.

GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team fell to Metro State, 3-2, in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action Friday night in Volk Gym.

Game scores were 28-30, 30-23, 30-17, 25-30, 15-10.

CSM (10-15, 6-10 RMAC) was paced by senior middle hitter Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) who posted 15 kills, 10 blocks and eight digs. Junior Ashley Pagel (Brighton, Colo./Northern Colorado) registered 19 digs, while freshman outside hitter Kaity Edmiston (Grand Junction, Colo./Palisade) added 10 kills.

Metro State (15-8, 12-4 RMAC) received a match-best 24 kills from Julie Green, while Stefanie Allison tallied 15 kills and 22 digs. Sheena Bohannon also reached double-digit kills with 14. Bri Ostler finished with a match-best 25 digs, while Stephanie Levi dished out a match-best 60 assists.

CSM will return to action on Saturday night when it hosts Colorado Christian at 7:00 pm in Volk Gymnasium. It will be the home finale for the Orediggers.

GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team snapped a six-match losing streak with a 3-2 win over Chadron State in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action Saturday night in Volk Gym.

Game scores were 28-30, 30-20, 27-30, 30-22, 15-12

CSM (10-14, 6-9 RMAC) was led by freshman setter Lara Vagstad (Aurora, Colo./Grandview) who posted 67 assists, six digs, five aces and four kills in her first career start.

Freshman right side Kaity Edmiston (Palisade, Colo./Palisade) tallied 18 kills, while freshman outside hitter Keesha Erickson (The Woodlands, Texas/Oak Ridge) added 16 kills and 17 digs. Senior outside hitter Caitlin Mabe (Lakewood, Colo./Denver Lutheran) posted 12 kills and 11 digs and senior middle hitter Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) chipped in 12 kills and 19 digs.

CSC (2-25, 1-14 RMAC) received 19 kills from Patrice Henson, while Anna Jackson recorded a match-best 21 digs.

UNK (20-5, 12-3 RMAC) received 14 kills from Juli Minicz. Kelli Bunger added 10 kills, while Kelli Wemhoff added a match-best 29 digs.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team dropped its final match of the RMAC Crossover #2 to CSU-Pueblo, 3-1, on Saturday night at Mesa State's Brownson Arena.

Game scores were 30-23, 36-34, 30-32, 30-25.

CSM (9-13, 5-8 RMAC) received 19 kills and 21 digs from senior middle hitter Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan). Junior setter Ashley Pagel (Brighton, Colo./Northern Colorado) added 52 assists, 14 digs and seven kills, while senior outside hitter Caitlin Mabe (Lakewood, Colo./Denver Lutheran) chipped in 14 kills and eight digs.

CSU-Pueblo (12-9, 7-6 RMAC) received 19 kills and 23 digs from Lindsey Wilson, while Amber Jessen dished out 59 assists and added 18 digs.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines fell to Western New Mexico, 3-0, in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action at the RMAC Crossover #2 Saturday afternoon at Mesa State.

Game scores were 30-20, 30-19, 30-26.

CSM (9-12, 5-7 RMAC) received 11 kills from junior middle hitter Nicole Leeper (Brighton, Colo./Brighton), while junior setter Ashley Pagel (Brighton, Colo./Northern Colorado) dished out 32 assists and notched nine digs. Senior middle hitter Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) recorded nine kills and a team-best 12 digs.

WNMU (19-4, 10-2 RMAC) got 12 kills from Liz Narkon and 11 from Jennifer Snowbarger, while Courtney Heiser dished out 33 assists and had eight kills.

CSM will concluded the RMAC Crossover #2 with a 7:00 pm match Saturday night against CSU-Pueblo.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines dropped its second match on day one of the RMAC Crossover #2 at Mesa State's Brownson Arena on Friday night.

After falling to Fort Lewis, 3-0, earlier in the day, the Orediggers dropped a 3-0 decision to Mesa State on Friday night. Game scores were 30-28, 30-24, 30-28.

CSM (9-11, 5-6 RMAC) was led by senior middle hitter Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) who totaled nine kills, six digs and six blocks. Freshman libero Michelle McElahney (Monument, Colo./Lewis Palmer) tallied 14 digs, while junior setter Ashley Pagel (Brighton, Colo./Northern Colorado) chipped in 24 assists, 12 digs and five kills.

Mesa State (9-12, 8-4 RMAC) received 25 kills and 15 digs from Stacey Vogel, while Dara Waialae dished out 47 assists.

The Orediggers will conclude the Crossover on Saturday with an 11:00 am match against Western New Mexico and a 7:00 pm match against CSU-Pueblo. Both matches will take place at Mesa State.

FLC (16-4, 8-3 RMAC) received 19 kills from Nicole Schwab. Carly Lacey dished out 36 assists, while Adrienne Dettler had a match-best 27 digs.

CSM (9-9, 5-4 RMAC) was led by senior middle hitter Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) who tallied 17 kills, 10 digs and nine blocks. Junior middle hitter Nicole Leeper (Brighton, Colo./Brighton) added 16 kills, while junior setter Ashley Pagel (Brighton, Colo./Northern Colorado) chipped in 39 assists, 15 digs and nine kills.

Metro State (9-8, 6-4 RMAC) received 30 kills and 17 digs from Stefanie Allison, while Stephanie Levi dished out 70 assits and Bri Ostler recorded 29 digs.

The Orediggers will be back in action Friday when they play Fort Lewis at 11:00 am at Mesa State in the second RMAC Crossover.

CSM (9-8, 5-3 RMAC) was led by senior middle hitter Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) who produced 11 kills and nine digs. KEARNEY, Neb. - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team earned its first ever win over Nebraska-Kearney, 3-2, in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action Saturday night at the Health & Sports Center.

CSM came into the match 0-25 all-time against the Lopers, but earned the first win in program history over the 22nd-ranked Lopers. Game scores were 30-20, 30-28, 21-30, 26-30, 16-14.

CSM was led by junior setter Ashely Pagel (Brighton, Colo./Northern Colorado) who amassed 54 assists, 23 digs and five kills. Senior middle hitter Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) had 16 kills and 14 digs, while freshman outside hitter Kaity Edmiston (Palisade, Colo./Palisade) chipped in 15 kills and 17 digs.

UNK (12-5, 5-3 RMAC) was led by Kelli Bunger who posted 26 kills and 11 digs. Erica Burson added 18 kills and 13 digs, while Kelli Wemhoff recorded a match-best 26 digs.

CHADRON, Neb. - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team got by Chadron State, 3-2, in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action Friday night.

Game scores were 24-30, 30-22, 32-30, 26-30, 15-13.

CSM (6-9, 2-4 RMAC) was led by senior middle hitter Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) who posted 16 kills, 19 digs and four blocks. Junior setter Ashley Pagel (Brighton, Colo./Northern Colorado) added a triple-double with 43 assists, 20 digs and 13 kills, while freshman outside hitter Kaity Edmiston (Palisade, Colo./Palisade) recorded 14 kills and six digs.

Chadron State (1-17, 0-8 RMAC) was paced by Jamie O'Brien who posted 22 kills and Jamie Mills who dished out 57 assists to go along with 11 digs. Jennifer Nutsch had 29 digs.

Game scores were 30-16, 30-27, 31-29.

Freshman outside hitter Kaity Edmiston (Palisade, Colo./Palisade) posted a game-best 14 kills to lead the Orediggers. Junior setter Ashley Pagel (Brighton, Colo./Northern Colorado) added 39 assists, seven kills and nine digs, while freshman libero Michelle McElhaney (Monument, Colo./Lewis Palmer) recorded 11 digs.

CC (6-3) was led by Anna Clithero who posted 12 kills and nine digs. Michelle Rybka chipped in 10 kills, while Meryn Grant contributed 28 assists and five kills.

ALAMOSA, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team dropped its final match at the first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Crossover on Saturday night at Adams State's Plachy Hall.

The Orediggers dropped a 3-2 decision to Western State. CSM won the first two games, 30-26, 30-23, but the Mountaineers came back to win the final three, 30-27, 30-24, 15-12.

CSM (5-6, 2-1 RMAC) was led by senior outside hitter Caitlin Mabe (Lakewood, Colo./Denver Lutheran) who pounded out a career-best 19 kills and added 16 digs. Junior setter Ashley Pagel (Brighton, Colo./Northern Colorado) added 61 assists and 12 digs, while senior middle hitter Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) chipped in 16 kills and 16 digs.

Western State (7-4, 2-1 RMAC) was led by Heather Adams and Amy Thompson who recorded 16 kills each. Thompson also dished out 53 assists and added 10 digs for a triple-double.

ALAMOSA, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team won its second straight at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Crossover, defeating New Mexico Highlands, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon at Adams State's Plachy Hall.

Game scores were 30-22, 30-26, 27-30, 30-20.

CSM (5-5, 2-0 RMAC) was led by senior outside hitter Caitlin Mabe (Lakewood, Colo./Denver Lutheran) who posted 14 kills and six digs, while junior middle hitter Nicole Leeper (Brighton, Colo./Brighton) added 19 kills. Junior setter Ashley Pagel (Brighton, Colo./Northern Colorado) dished out 51 assists and tallied nine digs and eight kills.

Audra Williams led NMHU with 16 kills.

Game scores were 30-26, 30-16, 14-30, 26-30, 15-12.

CSM (4-5, 1-0 RMAC) was led by senior middle hitter Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) who posted 11 kills, 17 digs and 11 blocks. Junior setter Ashley Pagel (Brighton, Colo./Northern Colorado) added 40 assists and 21 digs, while freshman outside hitter Kaity Edmiston (Palisade, Colo./Palisade) and junior middle hitter Nicole Leeper (Brighton, Colo./Brighton) tallied 10 kills each.

ASC (1-9, 0-1 RMAC) was led by Darcy Jennings who had a match-best 20 kills, while Tagen Bierly added 71 assists and 12 digs. Janie Elkins recorded a match-high 24 digs.

GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team wound up 1-3 in the 2006 Days Inn Denver West/Oredigger Volleyball Classic after dropping a 3-0 decision to Slippery Rock on Saturday night in its final game of the Classic.

Game scores were 30-22, 30-17, 30-22.

CSM (3-5) was led by junior middle hitter Nicole Leeper (Brighton, Colo./Brighton) who produced nine kills and hit .692 for the match. Junoir setter Ashley Pagel (Brighton, Colo./Northern Colorado) added another double-double with 30 assists and 10 digs, while senior outside hitter Caitlin Mabe (Lakewood, Colo./Denver Lutheran) chipped in seven kills and three digs.

SRU (7-1) received a match-best 21 kills and eight digs from Anastasia Urbanik, while Sara Kirsch dished out 46 assists. Jen Blasko tallied eight kills and a match-high 15 digs.

Wayne State (5-1) was led by an 18 kill night from Michelle Eckhardt. Emily Schroeder (16), Brittany Van Beek (12) and Danielle Wessel (11) also reached double digits in kills, while Brittany Coleman dished out 60 assists and Laura Dolezal recorded a match best 28 digs.

CSM will return to action on Saturday with a 1:00 pm match against Seattle University and a 6:00 pm match against Slippery Rock in the final day of action in the invitational.

CSM VOLLEYBALL TOPS MINNESOTA CROOKSTON, 3-0

GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team opened the 2006 Days Inn Denver West/Oredigger Volleyball Classic with a 3-0 win over Minnesota Crookston on Friday afternoon in Volk Gym.

Game scores were 30-27, 30-18, 30-21.

CSM (3-2) was led by senior middle hitter Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) who totaled 12 kills and eight digs. Junior setter Ashley Pagel (Brighton, Colo./Northern Colorado) dished out 36 assists and added five kills and six digs, while junior outside hitter Kristin Evanyo (Littleton, Colo./Lakewood) produced 11 kills.

UM-Crookston (3-5) was led by Erin Flynn who tallied 16 kills.

CSM will return to action Friday night when it hosts Wayne State (Neb.) at 7:00 pm in the Orediggers' second match of the Classic.

CSM VOLLEYBALL FINISHES 2-2 IN TEXAS
WITH 3-0 SWEEP OF ALASKA ANCHORAGE

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team concluded the Texas MedClinic St. Mary's Invitational on Saturday evening by sweeping Alaska-Anchorage, 3-0, to finish the invitational with a 2-2 mark..

Game scores were 33-31, 30-25, 30-27.

Freshman middle hitter Kaity Edmiston (Palisade, Colo./Palisade) led the Orediggers with 12 kills and 15 digs, while junior setter Ashley Pagel (Brighton, Colo./Northern Colorado) dished out 38 assists and added 13 digs for her third double-double in four matches. Senior outside hitter Caitlin Mabe (Lakewood, Colo./Denver Lutheran) tallied 11 kills and eight digs.

UAA (1-3) received 13 kills and 12 digs from Paepaetele Poasa, while Tehane Kahalehau dished out 41 assists to go along with 16 digs.

CSM senior middle hitter Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) was named to the All-Tournament Team after she produced 43 kills, 33 digs and 20 blocks. Rebol also had a triple-double in the win over Valdosta State.

The Orediggers (2-2) will return to action on Friday when they host Minnesota-Crookston at 2:00 pm in the opening day of the 2006 CSM/Denver West Days Inn Classic in Volk Gym. CSM will also play Wayne State at 7:00 pm on Friday night.

CSM VOLLEYBALL TOPS VALDOSTA STATE, 3-1

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team picked up its first win of the season as it defeated Valdosta State (Ga.), 3-1, in the Texas MedClinic St. Mary's Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Game scores were 30-25, 30-25, 26-30, 30-25.

Senior middle hitter Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) paced the Orediggers as she recorded a triple-double with 16 kills, 11 blocks and 10 digs. Junior setter Ashley Pagel (Brighton, Colo./Northern Colorado) added 47 assists and nine digs, while Freshman middle hitter Kaity Edmiston (Palisade, Colo./Palisade) and junior middle hitter Nicole Leeper (Brighton, Colo./Brighton) chipped in 13 kills apiece.

Valdosta State (0-3) was led by Steph Kirrstetter who produced 17 kills and 16 digs.

CSM (1-2) will conclude the Invitational on Saturday evening when it plays Alaska-Anchorage at 5:30 pm.

CSM VOLLEYBALL FALLS AT ST. MARY'S, 3-1

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team dropped its second match on Friday night to host St. Mary's, 3-1, in the Texas MedClinic St. Mary's Invitational.

Game scores were 30-27, 24-30, 30-13, 30-22.

CSM (0-2) was led by senior middle hitter Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) who posted a team-best 13 kills and 11 digs. Junior setter Ashley Pagel (Brighton, Colo./Northern Colorado) dished out 37 assists and added 15 digs as she notched her second straight double double.

Freshman libero Tiffany Deaton (Colorado Springs, Colo./Doherty) tallied a team-best 19 digs in the loss.

St. Mary's (2-0) was paced by a 16-kill night from Samantha Weber, while Courtney Matula registered 51 assists.

CSM will return to action on Saturday with two more matches in the Invitational. The Orediggers will play Valdosta State and Alaska-Anchorage.

CSM VOLLEYBALL DROPS SEASON OPENER TO ROLLINS COLLEGE, 3-0

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team dropped its season opener to Rollins (Fla.) College, 3-0, on Friday afternoon in the Texas MedClinic St. Mary's Invitational.

Game scores were 30-25, 30-24, 30-24.

CSM (0-1) was led by senior outside hitter Caitlin Mabe (Lakewood, Colo./Denver Lutheran) who posted a team-best eight kills and four digs. Junior outside hitter Kristin Evanyo (Lakewood, Colo./Littleton) added seven kills, while junior setter Ashley Pagel (Brighton, Colo./Northern Colorado) chipped in 24 assists and 17 digs.

RC (1-0) was led by a match-best 12 kills from Piper Young, while Lacey Malarky dished out 41 assists. Flavia Silverira tallied a match-best 19 digs.

The Orediggers will return to action on Friday night when they play St. Mary's in the second game of the Invitational for each school. The match is slated for 8:30 pm.
